This anthology issue contains at least two war stories. "Tank Trap" follows a sergeant who stays behind enemy lines in the Argonne Woods despite fear, positioning himself to destroy enemy tanks by detonating a cache of dynamite hidden in a cave. "A Prayer" depicts a nameless soldier caught in heavy combat who is struck by enemy fire, survives by chance, and later discovers that an old artillery gun—positioned unknowingly behind the red lines—had been firing at random and became one of the targets responsible for his survival.
