Fightin' Army #46
This is an anthology issue featuring multiple war stories. "The Major's All-Out War" depicts a major who has stopped being human, transformed by the brutality of warfare into something animalistic, commanding soldiers with cruelty. "The Last Charge" is set in November 1950 during the Korean War, where General MacArthur's forces have pushed north, and a rifle company commanded by Captain Gun Meehan, outnumbered and facing Chinese Communist forces, makes a desperate final assault on an enemy position. A third story, "What You Can Expect," follows a recruit named Smith through his military induction, training, and assignment to tank mechanics school, concluding with his reunion with his girlfriend after a year of service.
