Fightin' Marines #38

The issue contains at least two war stories featuring Marines in combat. One story depicts a Marine gunner named Fisher who must retrieve a vital machine gun during a firefight with Japanese forces, managing to retrieve the weapon and escape despite heavy enemy fire. Another story, titled "Who Gets the Medal?", shows a conflict between a character called Cowboy and his Marine unit during a battle on the beach of Tarawa, where they struggle to maintain ammunition supply for a machine gun position and ultimately repel an enemy attack, with the Marines later taking captured Japanese supplies and proceeding inland.
