Fightin' Marines #54

This issue contains two stories. "Captain Granite" follows Marines of Charlie Company as they fight their way out of freezing foxholes, with emphasis on the determination to survive. "Saipan Victory" depicts a 1962 encounter between an aging ex-Marine and his estranged son at a Marine cemetery on Saipan, where they confront their shared wartime past and attempt reconciliation. The latter story includes combat flashbacks to June 14, 1944, showing the son's participation in the island campaign and the father's discovery of his son among the casualties.
