Fightin' Navy #98

The main story features a naval intelligence operation centered on a mysterious wrist watch. After cracked plates appear on an aircraft carrier, an officer discovers the watch belongs to Henry Wilford and contains a powerful Heatus device—a gram of radioactive material capable of emitting heat rays that can melt steel—which the enemy has been using as a weapon. The Navy sets up surveillance, captures enemy agents attempting to retrieve the watch, and ultimately uses the device to locate and destroy an enemy submarine base, with Wilford cooperating fully once the situation is explained to him. A secondary story involves a submarine crew discovering a secret enemy island base and engaging in combat operations to prevent its use as a strategic military site.
