"The Dogface," a prose story illustrated with artwork, depicts Sergeant Steve Chandler, a former factory worker turned soldier, who struggles with his studies during a military barrage in Korea before dreaming of piloting jets home—only to be mocked by his college-educated fellow cadets, leading to conflict over discipline and his willingness to accept military change.
