In the main story "Foodini Goes West," the Great Foodini, a stage magician, encounters trouble when a performer he kidnaps claims to be responsible for his act, and a man named Pinhead attempts to extort $5,000 from him by threatening to expose his magic tricks. After receiving a ransom note signed by "Raggy Joe," Foodini must navigate complications involving the kidnapped performer, Pinhead's schemes, and the legal complications surrounding Foodini's attempts to recover the situation with counterfeit money. The issue also features "Gone to See," in which Foodini encounters ghosts and exposes a phony spiritualist attempting to con a believer in the supernatural during a séance.
