Football Thrills #1

This anthology issue features three football-themed stories. "The Red Grange Story" recounts a college football game between Army and Navy where the Navy team's two talented twin players nearly defeat Army before Army rallies back, with Joe Stanowicz and others leading a comeback. "Gridiron Thrills" is a non-fiction article celebrating legendary football moments and players throughout history, from Red Grange and Jim Thorpe to Frankie Albert and other notable athletes. "The Fighting Heart" follows Frank Leahy, a Notre Dame football coach, who joins McKever and a team at Bear Mountain, New York to help a group of young soldiers bolster Notre Dame's football team after learning that Frank Syzmanski, the team's center, has been injured in a plane crash and needs to recover.
