The reading room
Fritzi Ritz #37
Fritzi Ritz #37 This issue contains two stories. In the main Fritzi Ritz story by Ernie Bushmiller, Fritzi attends a movie at a theater where she and her date encounter a "sneaky butler" character on screen. The butler has hidden a dagger on a shelf and rigged a trap door in the kitchen with a poisoned candle, creating suspense as they watch the film unfold. The second story follows a young boy named Willie who meets a friend named Dudley and gets involved in various winter activities, including building snowmen. Willie later shows his mother pictures he's drawn and creates a chaotic scene in his room with toy soldiers and other playthings. A third segment features comedic foreign characters (speaking phrases like "Akka Pakka" and "Inka Pinka Dinka Klinka") involved in a scheme with a maharajah and an elephant, culminating in a brawl over possession of the animal.
