Funny Animals #87

This issue features two main stories. The first is a lengthy tale about Bart Beaver and his animal friends—including Pot Partridge, Sam Sparrow, Pete Pigeon, Whitey Rabbit, Walter Weasel, and Cecil—who work together to bake a cake for a Sunday gathering. After obtaining ingredients from various sources and traveling to a miller's home for flour, the group discovers the flour sack is actually Portland Cement, resulting in an inedible cake that cannot be cut. The second story is "Sherlock and Chuck in 'Nail a Thief,'" in which Sherlock and Chuck investigate the mystery of bent nails, only to discover they are the troublemakers themselves when Chuck accidentally crashes into Sherlock's mirror while attempting to hang it properly.
