Gabby Hayes Western #15

Gabby and his partner Bighorn Bill encounter a mysterious hairy creature they mistake for an evil spirit in the badlands, which they bring to a Native American village, claiming it will prove their bravery. The creature is revealed to be an actual spirit called "Fall-Down," and Gabby identifies himself as the foreman of Bar Nothing Ranch, outwitting the spirit through cleverness rather than violence. The story concludes with Gabby using his wits to cure the tribe of "Fall-Down Sickness" before departing.
