Gabby Hayes tangles with a crooked caveman and his gang who are trying to scare people away from an old mining claim. After Gabby defeats the villain in a series of slapstick confrontations—including a wild rope swing and a fall from stilts—he discovers that the boys have found diamonds buried in the mine's backyard. Gabby thwarts the crook's attempt to bury the diamonds by filling the mine shaft with dirt, and claims the valuable find as his own.
