The Savage Raids of Chief Geronimo Geronimo's men set a prairie fire trap in Cougar Valley to ambush white settlers and soldiers, forcing wagons to flee through flames toward what they believe is safety, unaware of the greater danger ahead. When Apache warriors attack from another direction, a white spy named Sieber manages to escape on horseback up a rocky mountain, where Geronimo pursues him. After Geronimo shoots the spy, believing him dead, Sieber survives by clinging to a ledge and later escapes to plan his revenge. A ranger named Hal Creeger is meanwhile caught in a forest fire and presumed dead, but a masked murderer has actually set multiple fires to frame Creeger's death and enact a more sinister plot of revenge involving a woman named Cora Carter.
