"From the Haunted House" features a soldier encountering the ghost of his friend Fred, who died in battle and has returned to keep a promise. A separate story depicts a wealthy man hosting a party at his mansion where guests become trapped by supernatural forces after he sets a fire to prevent them from discovering his plan to steal their gold, with mice inadvertently providing a solution by finding an alternate exit. The issue concludes with a tale of Mrs. White's garden, which becomes magically sealed and frozen after her death, defying all attempts to open it or restore it to normal.
