"Shirley's Detective Schooldays" follows Carol Fenton and Denia Gray in Switzerland, who discover their friend Mitzi has disappeared before a figure-skating competition and has been imprisoned in a water-mill by the villain Scarpios. The girls don mystery costumes and set out to rescue Mitzi, following footprint clues through the snow-covered landscape. "Hetty and Hal in Holland" chronicles Hetty Walker's attendance at an exclusive amateur skating gala at Lake Manor, where she becomes suspicious of an invitation and uncovers a plot involving a stolen secretary and valuable items. "The Chums of the Old Mill" follows three girls who must escape from the Great Tithe Barn and encounter enemy soldiers while attempting to reach their bicycles. A final story features Wanda and Meenha investigating a mystery involving a camera and attempting to prove Wanda's innocence in the disappearance of a valuable antique vase.
