This is an anthology of Western stories. "The Comanche Kid" follows a young guide hired to help Old Doc Barker and his wagon train cross the desert, but trouble erupts when a powder keg supplied by Big Nose Charlie ignites, scattering lead cards from a smoking six-shooter deck and forcing the group to pursue horses to Salt Lake City. "A True Butchering—Espinosa's" is set in the middle 1800s along the Mexican border, where a man seeks revenge against the Yaqui for killing his family, vowing to hunt down the Gringo bandits responsible. The final story involves a conflict at the Palatial Ranch home of Douglas Fairchild, a millionaire oilman, where a man named Slim and others become entangled in murder and deception, with accusations of killing and betrayal leading to dramatic confrontations.
