Gunsmoke #5

This anthology issue contains two Western stories. In the main story "Gunsmoke," federal marshal Gunsmoke pursues outlaws Lafferty and Hodges, capturing them after a confrontation and delivering them to jail despite their attempt to escape. A second story, "The Masked Marvel," features a masked vigilante who confronts outlaws in the town of Salt Lick; the Marvel is revealed to be a wealthy man's son working to clean up the town, and he later assists a woman named Belle Starr against Union cavalry during a Civil War-era conflict.
