This anthology issue contains two Western stories. "Kate Barlock—She-Devil of the West" depicts Kate Barlock defending a frontier fort against a Kiowa Indian attack with only three men, set in Culpeper, North Dakota in July 1856. "The Masked Marvel" follows a masked vigilante defender of justice in Crossbone, Texas, as he investigates a bank robbery and murder, ultimately discovering that a wanted criminal called "The Masked Marvel" may have faked his own crimes to cover his tracks.
