Blazing Gunsmoke Trail #4 The Lone Rider confronts the Hangman, a masked killer responsible for a murdered man's death in the town of Dead Flat, after rescuing a woman and child from the villain's clutches. When the townspeople threaten to lynch the Rider themselves, he reveals that the Governor's troops are en route and uses the threat of their arrival to disperse the mob. The story concludes with the Lone Rider, aided by the Indian boy Bright Feather, defeating the Hangman in a gunfight before departing into the night.
