This anthology issue contains at least two stories: "Star of the Sea," in which a ship's crew departing Istanbul encounters Hassim Yarpuz, a demanding captain who insists on clean food despite having no cook, leading to chaos and mutiny when a mob attacks the vessel; and an untitled story featuring a woman named Rita who races to reach the Monastery of Rhisa in the mountains to save her ailing father, with assistance from Dr. Fredric Harwell, a Western-trained physician from Edinburgh. A third story follows a ship's captain and crew dealing with dangerous cargo—a crate of poisoned animals and a cobra—that creates life-threatening situations aboard the vessel as they attempt to contain and manage the threats during rough seas.
