Hopalong Cassidy #16

The main story, "Hopalong Cassidy and the Robbery in the Night," features Hopalong discovering a sleeping stagecoach driver in danger and working to prevent a robbery. A character named Buck becomes entangled in the plot when he obtains a valuable diamond ring cursed with bad luck; he attempts to use it to rob a bank to pay off a gambling debt but is ultimately captured. Young Barty, initially suspected of the crime, is exonerated when he confesses to the robbery himself before being apprehended by the sheriff. The issue also includes a comedic backup story, "Colonel Corn and Korny Kobb," set at a newspaper office where job-seekers meet with editors.
