In "Heavy Foot and Green," young Danny Reynolds is preparing for his first roadster race at a Long Island track when his older brother Pete suspects competitor Duke Brennan of sabotage. After Danny's car is prepared at Mack's service station with engine modifications, he and his competitor Gill prepare for the Pasco Flats race in their vehicles—Danny driving the yellow "Lightning Lois" roadster. During the race, Danny's engine begins to fail catastrophically, and investigation reveals that saboteur Wally has damaged the engine block, but Danny's father discovers that despite the sabotage, Danny and Eric must now race against each other instead.
