Hot Rod Racers #8

In "Cooled Off Hotshot," Gil Hewlitt's dynamic demon-powered hot rod and Johnny Arl's speedy Spotty compete in a drag race for the ninth time, with Johnny finally ready to admit his rival has the better car. When Hewlitt doesn't wait for Spotty's driver to fasten his seat belt before the race, Johnny swings at him in anger, but Hewlitt's superior driving skills allow him to dominate the drag strip. After the race, Sonny reluctantly concedes that Johnny Arl's vehicle is second-best on the dragstrip, acknowledging that his own car's fancy mirrors, chrome, and deluxe interior cannot compensate for the lack of raw horsepower and performance.
