Hot Rods and Racing Cars #23

This issue contains two stories: "Locked Wheels," in which "Hot Rod" King accepts an offer from manager Jack Garth to drive a stock car in a racing circuit and encounters two rival drivers, Dave Mann and Pinto Jackson, who are running too close together on a turn; and "No Margin for Error," featuring the 2,000-mile Panam Mexican Road Race starting at Tuxtla, where Ferrari driver Pedro Alfadi, a young unknown pilot from South America, faces the dangerous and challenging mountain course. A subplot involves Miss Bendell attempting to persuade Hot Rod King to help stop a drag racing ban proposed by politician Stevens, who views the sport as a safety menace to the town.
