"The Grand Prix Age" features young racing driver Clint Curtis, who is invited by Italian car manufacturer Manuel Delloro to drive a Mercedes-Benz in a major race in the Targa Florio. After ten days of practice, Clint's parents and Bud's parents meet to discuss an accident that occurred during training, with Bud admitting responsibility. A state police safety officer encourages the boys to form a driving club focused on safety education, and the Road Knights club is established to teach proper driving techniques and prevent accidents. During a Road Knights meeting at their headquarters, Clint and another member nearly collide when one of them attempts a dangerous stunt, leading to a discussion about the differences between amateur and expert driving.
