Hot Rods and Racing Cars #58 The main story "Clint Curtis and the Road Knights" follows a group of teenage hot-rodders who are blamed for a dangerous driving incident they didn't cause, leading their father figures to consider taking away their cars. After proving their innocence and demonstrating their responsible intentions, the Road Knights are allowed to keep their vehicles and compete in a safety contest. A subplot features Leroy and Ziggy, young mechanics who rebuild an old engine and take their completed hot rod for a beach outing, where Leroy's driving dangerously reaches 130 mph before a woman on the beach warns them to slow down.
