Indians #16
This anthology issue contains three stories: "Long Bow," about a young warrior who must prove himself during the growing season by winning a horse race against rivals and facing challenges that test his worthiness; "Warriors of the West," depicting Black Hawk, a Sac warrior born in 1767 on the Rock River, who leads his people against white expansion and eventual forced removal from their lands, culminating in a treaty signed in 1804 that confines the tribe to the other side of the Mississippi River; and an educational text on the Five Civilized Tribes, focusing on the Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole nations, their governmental structures, and the tragic Trail of Tears forced exile westward, with mention that Part II will appear in issue #17.
