A soldier named Harry and a woman named Nancy fall in love and become engaged, but their marriage is threatened when Harry is deployed to Japan during wartime. While separated, Nancy receives letters from Harry that sustain her emotionally, though the war repeatedly interferes with their ability to reunite.
