"The Days of Gold King Dinglefritter" by George Carlson recounts a tall tale of a sea-cook and baker whose magical cooking attracts the attention of the king, leading to a comedic confrontation over a stolen spoon. A third story involves Hortense, who is invited to a fancy garden party at what appears to be an official residence, where she plays croquet with the other guests and eventually flees the scene.
