Johnny Gets the Word #nn

Johnny, a foolish gambler who loses money, learns about a "game" in which the odds are stacked against everybody—syphilis—after contracting the disease. A doctor explains to Johnny that he is lucky to have come for treatment early, and that syphilis can be cured with proper medical care. Mr. Kane then provides Johnny with the names of people he has contacted, warning him of the dangers of untreated syphilis and urging him to tell them to seek treatment. The comic concludes with Johnny understanding the seriousness of the disease and resolving to help others by revealing his contacts and encouraging them to get medical attention.
