Juke Box Comics #3
An inside story reveals how singer Vic Damone rose to fame through careful management and planning two years prior. At an amateur night contest at the opera house, a young Damone impresses a manager named Mr. Capone, who offers to groom him for success. After Damone performs, a boy named Sloo-Foot Jackson attempts to enter the same contest but becomes frozen with stage fright; later, Sloo-Foot's friend devises a scheme to help him win a dance contest by having him call his girl Groovy instead of using Sloo-Foot's real name, hoping the better name will give him confidence and improve his chances.
