Jumbo Comics #48 is an anthology featuring multiple stories: "Sheena—Jungle Queen" presents Sheena facing a devil-trap of caged beasts and gold-mad men in "Red Meat for the Cat-Pack"; "ZX-5—America's Spy-Ace" follows the espionage agent in "Who Killed Hitler's Headsman?" where he and Else Zingser cling perilously to the undercarriage of a moving train and later apprehend a fugitive named Byrnes; a mystery story follows Detective Henderson as he investigates a murder at a hotel, ultimately discovering that Byrnes is the culprit after a violent confrontation; and "The Hawk" features the pirate character battling enemies aboard a ship and in a fortress dungeon while attempting to rescue captives including Jeremy and the Hawk's crew members.
