An escaped convict named Horton, who was being transported with a sheriff and deputies, gets lost in the fog after the vehicle catches fire and crashes. Horton encounters Spencer, a man he previously wronged, and shoots him during their confrontation, then attempts to flee by car with accomplice Tony. When Spencer reveals that Horton's bullet killed not only him but also the sheriff and a deputy, Horton realizes his crime has escalated, and law enforcement closes in to capture him.
