Ken Maynard battles a gang of badmen who have organized the biggest looting scheme in Western history, using an imported Indian elephant to carry a powerful telescope and organize coordinated raids on towns across the region. When the badmen attempt to use the elephant to raid Copper City, Ken Maynard defeats them in a gunfight and foils their scheme. The issue also includes a humorous backup story featuring Jumping Jehoshaphat and his talking horse Ya-Ta-Ta at a square dance, where the horse's penny-pinching nature causes comedic situations.
