Kerry Drake, Chief of Investigation for the D.A.'s office, investigates the murder of a man found dead at the Wedmore estate after blackmailers Highbrow and Smoky torture a victim there seeking information. Drake and his associates uncover clues including a suspicious dog from a kennel catalog and evidence of a dangerous electrical device rigged in the mansion, ultimately pursuing the case to expose the criminals behind the murder scheme.
