"Deedaddy" Danny features a Christmas-themed adventure in which Danny attempts to help Santa by going to the zoo instead of delivering presents, leading to comedic mishaps involving animal antics. In a separate story, "Will David Be Rescued?", a naval drama unfolds as David and Alan Breck find themselves in peril at sea when their ship, the "Covenant," is wrecked, and David falls into the water—with the resolution to follow in the next issue. Additionally, a spy thriller involving the villain Dr. X and the hero Sexton Blake climaxes with Blake cornered on a ship surrounded by naval vessels and Dr. X's mines, as Blake desperately attempts to foil the doctor's plans before the navy arrives.
