"Deed-a-Day Danny" depicts a boy helping an elderly gentleman open a stuck sardine tin, which leads to a series of escalating comedic mishaps involving the tin flying into the road and causing chaos. The issue also contains a story featuring characters Sexton Blake and Tinker, in which Blake pursues a mysterious "Emerald Eye" artifact tied to an Indian rajah, eventually leading to a plane crash in the Himalayas where Blake must make a perilous descent. Additionally, the comic includes "Billy Bunter," following the character through misadventures at what appears to be a school setting, and David Balfour's storyline involving a lawyer named Rankellor and secrets about his family heritage and a mysterious trip to the Continent.
