"Deed-a-Day Danny" features the title character helping to generate interest among underprivileged children by encouraging them to plant seeds using plant food, leading to a successful growing project. In a separate adventure, Ralph and his companions are captured by pirates and thrown overboard, but Ralph manages to swim to a pirate ship and devise a clever escape using gunpowder, ultimately helping Jack and Peterkin secure the vessel. A third story follows explorers discovering the ancient dead city of Ankor and uncovering a link to a kidnapping mystery involving secret agents and a flying dragon, with protagonist Sexton Blake working to thwart the enemy's plans.
