The issue contains two stories: "Renegade Attack," in which Comanches attack settlers and a wagon train, and only Lash LaRue's guns, whip, and courage prevent total destruction; and "The Pursuit of Generous John," featuring John Cardine, known for his generosity, whom Lash knows for something more, as Lash pursues Cardine and his horses after they've crossed the border. A separate prose story titled "Agreement" depicts a horse race at Fargo Flats between young rancher Rob Raeburn's wild stallion Red Roan and Mace Barley's champion racer Whitefoot, with Raeburn determined to use the prize money to save his ranch from mortgage.
