A stagecoach carrying ten men, one woman, and supplies is attacked by a large Comanche war party in the desert. The group seeks shelter at the ruins of San Pablo de Ortega mission, where they discover water. Black Cloud, a Comanche leader, offers Sarge Trainor a bargain: surrender all guns in exchange for water and safe passage for the travelers and their people. When Trainor refuses, Black Cloud attacks the mission, leading to a tense standoff between the outnumbered defenders and the Comanche forces.
