A group of ten men and one woman defend a mission against an attack by a large band of Comanche warriors, who have planted dynamite outside the mission walls as a last resort. Black Cloud and his warriors assault the mission under cover of darkness, but the defenders manage to turn the tide and pursue the attackers into the night. The story depicts a desperate siege and running battle between the vastly outnumbered defenders and the Native American force attacking the settlement.
