Life Story #38 This issue contains an untitled story about a woman whose romance with a man named David is threatened when she becomes involved with his invention. After weeks of work on Jack's washing machine model, a promoter named Mister Ayers offers to buy the design and provide capital to develop it for market, promising Jack a good living. However, the woman learns that the money Jack was saving with her to buy a house and marry will now be tied up in the business venture. When she attempts to discourage Jack from the deal, he refuses to listen, and their relationship deteriorates until a construction accident injures her, forcing David to confront what truly matters and leading them to reconcile with the realization that their love is worth more than any financial gain.
