Lightning Comics v2 #1 This issue contains multiple stories. In one, Chief Lash and his police officers raid a gambling operation run by criminals called The Raven, who escapes through an underground passage while the officers discover the gambling rooms have been emptied and everyone warned away. At police headquarters, Lash vows to continue raiding their joints until he captures the ringleaders. In another story, criminals set fires backstage at a theater during a show, attempting to steal costumes, but the plot is foiled when a character named Marvio helps extinguish the flames. "Hap Hazard" follows a newspaper copyboy from the Daily Star who investigates counterfeit cigars being sold at a store, discovering a bad ten-spot bill mixed in the change—a clue to a larger criminal operation.
