Pepper follows Captain Condor, a spaceship pilot exiled for opposing an authoritarian regime, who crashlands on Hyperion in the year 3000 and discovers a mechanical mole used by the regime to capture victims; he and his companions escape through the mole into an underground city sealed from the outside atmosphere. The issue also features "Jingo Jones and His Invisibiliser," a school story in which a student uses an invisibility gadget to outwit his mathematics master, and a "World-Wide Quiz" section with trivia questions on geography, culture, and sports.
