1953-05-01 · 20 pages

This issue of *Lion* contains three main stories. "Captain Condor: Space-Man of the Unknown Moon" by Frank S. Pepper follows space pilot Captain Condor and his companion Pete as they encounter mysterious bouncing spheres on an uncharted moon and become suspicious of the sphere-wielding Zodians. A medieval adventure story follows characters including Dirk and Hal as they escape from a prison tower, navigate through a fortress, and foil a plot by traitors, with danger continuing as they encounter armed pursuers. "Bingo Jones and His Invisibiliser" by Tom Stirling tells of Bob and his friend Ernie attempting to use a circus performer's invisibiliser device—a scientific gadget that renders things invisible—to help retrieve stolen money from a circus, leading to a confrontation with the circus boss and resulting in a chaotic scene involving an invisible elephant. The issue also includes a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with various trivia questions about geography, animals, and general knowledge.
