Little Audrey operates a toll bridge during a rainstorm, charging one cent for passage. On a cruise ship, a captain orders all passengers ashore; when Audrey refuses to go, he chases her around the vessel until she eventually falls asleep. In a separate story titled "Shorty's Secret System," a small boy named Shorty Barnes, tired of being bullied on his way home from school, tells his parents he wants to spend Tuesday nights at the library—but uses this as a cover to secretly train a hunting dog, which he then uses to scare away the bullies who previously beat him up.
