Little Miss Muffet #13
Little Miss Millie helps the White family save their home from foreclosure by convincing a wealthy Mr. Marrell to purchase an old antique green rocker, which he intends to sell for profit to pay off the Whites' mortgage. When the plan falls through and Marrell cannot find a buyer, Millie enlists the help of Eph (a family friend) to locate Mr. Beddenborgh, a wealthy man who proves to be sentimental about the rocker and agrees to wire $500 to Marrell for it. The story concludes with Beddenborgh gifting the rocker to Millie as thanks for reminding him of his granddaughter, while Marrell receives the funds needed to help save the Whites' home. A subplot involves Cinder, Millie's dog, causing mischief and nearly getting lost during the events.
