Love at First Sight #38

This issue contains two stories. In "No Stranger Rival," a woman named Carol meets a man named Bill on a train, and they become attracted to each other. Bill invites Carol to Fairfield and introduces her to his mother, Mrs. Jones. However, a man named Mr. Delman, a wealthy widower who lives alone, takes interest in Carol, and Mrs. Jones encourages the relationship, hoping Carol will marry him instead of Bill. In "Fatal Pretense," a young woman named Eula meets Jay, a professor's son, and they fall in love; however, financial pressures and family expectations create complications as they consider marriage and their future together, with Eula struggling between her feelings for Jay and external pressures regarding her prospects.
