"I Was Too Beautiful" tells of a woman who uses her looks as a test of her boyfriend Peter's love, keeping their relationship secret to maintain his illusions about her, but ultimately realizes her deception has caused unnecessary suffering and nearly loses him. A second story depicts a woman named Pam who becomes engaged to Lance, a man torn between ambition and love; when Lance is set up with another woman for publicity purposes by his agent, Pam must decide whether to support his career or demand he choose her. A third story follows a woman who sacrifices her country life to move to the city with her husband Vic, a publicity agent trying to make it in Hollywood; though she supports his career ambitions, Vic reveals he came to the city partly for another unstated reason that makes her question their relationship.
