A woman boarding a ship to sea finds unexpected romance with a man named Bob Dunning, though their relationship becomes strained when he becomes angry with her and cuts in on her dances repeatedly. When children go missing in town, Officer Murphy investigates and discovers that a woman named Marsh has been neglecting the children in her care, including Joey and Linda, who were supposed to be home but had instead run off to the movies and the park unsupervised.
